Duties

Help

As a Program Support Assistant at the GS-0303-5/6/7, you may be assigned to perform work in any of the following departments/areas: Administrative Services, Personnel/Human Resources, Information Technology, Loan Processing, Loss Verification, Legal. Some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Preparing and distributing daily and weekly reports, maintaining time and attendance records, establishing and maintaining logs and files, and receiving phone calls.
  • Reviewing outgoing correspondence to assure correct format, typographical accuracy, and conformance with procedural requirements.
  • Receiving/screening department mail and managing all correspondence and administrative work flow in the department manager's office while ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Inputting information into a database, troubleshooting inputting errors, and retrieving data as requested.
  • Using Microsoft Office computer programs to produce a variety of documents and present information in a tabular format.
  • Answers questions and responds to requests for information or routes to designated unit or staff member for proper action.
  • Researches, interprets and/or applies various guidelines related to disaster loans and administrative support functions.

The PDC Ft. Worth, TX location is conveniently located near the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and DART/TRE Station.

  • You must be able to obtain and maintain a Government travel credit card.
  • Favorable background investigation and credit check are required.
  • Mandatory Overtime: In order to respond quickly and efficiently to disaster survivors, substantial compensated overtime hours may be required while on assignment (up to seven days a week and ten to fourteen hours a day).
  • Credit Score must be at least 500.

Qualifications

Generally, time in Non-Pay status is not creditable towards the specialized experience requirement listed below.
You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
You may qualify based on experience, education or a combination of both.


Experience: To receive credit, you must indicate the month and year as well as the average hours worked per week for each employer. Average work hours must be stated on resume to quantify each period of work experience or that experience will not be credited toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. You must address the specific specialized experience required for each grade level of this position on your resume or application or you will be rated "Ineligible"for that grade level.

GS-05: To qualify you must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience in pay or work status equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the GS-04 level in the Federal service that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skill, and ability to perform successfully in this position. This experience may have been gained in a Non-Federal service position. In addition, this Specialized Experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Performing at least two or more administrative support functions for an office or organization such as: time and attendance; data entry/input; preparing or reviewing correspondence for proper content, correct grammar, and format; preparing reports; mail services; maintaining records/files; etc.;
  • Communicating with internal or external customers to provide or obtain information, resolve issues, address inquiries, etc.; AND
  • Maintaining or safeguarding documents/records.
In addition to the above specialized experience, applicants must indicate proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office programs, such as Word and Excel on their resume.

GS-06: To qualify you must have at least 1 full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience in a pay or work status equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the GS-05 level in the Federal service that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skill, and ability to perform successfully in this position. This experience may have been gained in a Non-Federal service position. In addition, this Specialized Experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Performing at least three or more administrative support functions for an office or organization such as: time and attendance, data entry/input, preparing or reviewing correspondence for proper content, correct grammar and format, preparing reports, mail services, maintaining records/files, etc.;
  • Communicating with internal or external customers to provide or obtain information, resolve issues, address inquiries, etc.; AND
  • Maintaining or safeguarding documents/records.

GS-07: To qualify you must have at least 1 full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience in a pay or work status equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the GS-06 level in the Federal service that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skill, and ability to perform successfully in this position. This experience may have been gained in a Non-Federal service position. In addition, this Specialized Experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Performing at least three or more administrative support functions for an office or organization such as: time and attendance, data entry/input, preparing or reviewing correspondence for proper content, correct grammar, preparing reports, mail services, maintaining records/files, etc.;
  • Communicating with internal or external customers to provide or obtain information, resolve issues, address inquiries, etc.;
  • Maintaining or safeguarding documents/records; AND
  • Performing functions for an office or organization specifically related to at least one of the following: accountable property; facility management; preparing or reviewing legal or loan documents; analysis of flood maps; or recruitment/hiring staff.
In addition to the above specialized experience, applicants must indicate proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office programs, such as Word and Excel on their resume.

OR

Education

If qualifying based on education, you must submit transcripts to be eligible.

GS-05: A four year course of study above high school leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

GS-06: No substitution of education will be accepted for this grade level.

GS-07: No substitution of education will be accepted for this grade level.

OR

A combination of experience and education as indicated above.

Additional information

If you work or are expected to work at least 90 consecutive days and 130 hours per month, you will become eligible for health insurance benefits only.
