Duties

Help

You will:

- Provide organizational support and program guidance to senior management and external audiences;

- Review briefing materials for Chief of Staff to ensure reflection of Office of Air and Radiation (OAR) priorities;

- Recommend program objectives and improvements to resolve issues and measure progress;

- Review project plans to ensure legal compliance and meet customers' needs.

This position is designated as Low Risk and requires a background investigation. Unless an appropriate background investigation is already on record with the Office of Personnel Management, you must undergo a background investigation.

Qualifications

We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:

To qualify for the GS-12 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-11 level defined as organizing travel logistics and recommending solutions to improve program effectiveness and efficiency.

Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: 1) Skill in organization, sufficient to maintain information and files related to air and radiation activities; 2) Ability to oversee foreign and domestic travel arrangements for Immediate Office Staff; 3) Skill in written communication; 4) Ability to obtain information for analysis in briefing materials; 5) Skill in oral communication; 6) Ability to develop, adapt, and apply new methods to solve problems, improve effectiveness, and provide technical assistance to customers; 7) Skill in project management.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).  Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.  You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

How you will be evaluated

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
