Duties

Help

This position is on the Financial Disclosure staff. The Financial Disclosure staff is directly responsible for program management and operational support to the Judicial Conference of the United States Committee on Financial Disclosure. The Judicial Conference is the national administrative policy-making body for the federal courts. Duties include but not limited to:

  1. Providing high-quality professional staff support, guidance, and assistance the Judicial Conference Committee on Financial Disclosure responsible for implementing the financial disclosure provisions of the Ethics in Government Act of 1978, including excellent customer service to customers within and outside the judiciary;
  2. Using financial disclosure filing instructions, committee guidance, and regulations necessary to assist with the filing, review, processing, and maintenance of financial disclosure reports; and to ensure the timely administrative processing of public requests for copies of financial disclosure;
  3. Developing a thorough understanding of the Financial Disclosure online Electronic Filing System (FiDO) and the Judiciary Electronic Filing System (JEFS); using FiDO, JEFS, and other electronic systems to facilitate the review of reports; assisting in the development of system requirements, documentation, reports, and software testing, as needed;
  4. Directing visitors and telephonic inquiries from judges and judiciary employees to the staff member responsible for addressing their concerns and tracking inquiries;
  5. Using proper correspondence and office procedures to draft, review, and transmit notifications and correspondence, including letters, memoranda, e-mails, and electronic notifications;
  6. Using human resources information to identify filing requirements, while maintaining the confidentiality of judicial officers and employees;
  7. Using office electronic tracking systems to process, maintain, and monitor public requests for release and filer requests for redaction of financial disclosure reports filed with the Committee, including all correspondence associated with such requests; and to process, maintain, and monitor financial disclosure reports filed with the Committee;
  8. Assisting in the maintenance and support of the office's electronic tracking systems;
  9. Assisting in the population of data into electronic tracking systems used to process, maintain, and monitor financial disclosure report filings, public requests for release of financial disclosure reports, and filtering requests for redaction of financial disclosure reports filed with the committee; and
  10. Assisting with developing staff procedures and advising on best practices for securing, posting, and archiving documents.

  3. All new AO employees will be required to complete a FBI fingerprint-based national criminal database and records check and pass a public trust suitability check.
  4. All new AO employees must identify a financial institution for direct deposit of pay before appointment.
  5. You will be required to serve a trial period if selected for a first-time appointment to the Federal government, transferring from another Federal agency, or serving as a first-time supervisor. Failure to successfully complete the trial period may result in termination of employment.
  6. If appointed to a temporary position, management may have the discretion of converting the position to permanent depending upon funding and staffing allocation.
  7. Relocation expenses may be provided, but only if authorized by the Director of the AO.

Qualifications

Applicants must have demonstrated experience as listed below. This requirement is according to the AO Classification, Compensation, and Recruitment Systems which include interpretive guidance and reference to the OPM Operating Manual for Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions.

Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of this position. Specialized experience is demonstrated experience coordinating and providing a broad range of administrative support to include meeting coordination, maintaining an electronic tracking system, data entry and correspondence management.

Desired, but not required:
1. Knowledge of MS-Windows, especially file navigation, search, and application installation
2. Knowledge of MS-Access (intermediate - advanced)
3. Knowledge of MS-Excel (intermediate - advanced)
4. Knowledge of Apple MAC OS X, especially file navigation and search and application installation
5. Knowledge of Agile development methodology
6. Knowledge of Web development (basic)
