Duties

Help

  • Manages and oversees the data migration and management functions and operations and is the principal advisor for strategic planning and oversight for Data Migration and Management.
  • Delivers highly technical analyses of information security policies, strategies, architecture, metrics, risk management, workforce development and business intelligence.
  • Develops and maintains strategic organizational plans, identifying current and future business environments and aligning the organization to those environments.
  • Manages, reviews, and delivers analysis on Data Migration and Management functions, tasks, operations, and business processes in order to identify, remediate, and mitigate gaps in service and efficiency.
  • Conducts program and project research and performance analysis, delivers guidance for process improvement, and manages the implementation of that guidance.
  • Coordinates and/or conducts presentations in long range and annual work planning and IT capabilities to advise on the proposed formulation, management and execution of program resources (personnel and funding) and other management matters through an understanding of requirements and polices based on capabilities and resources.
  • Provides technical and administrative supervision to employees in a variety of professional and non-professional occupations.
  • Provides leadership, allocates resources, and implements activities to accomplish OEHRM multicultural organization direction, and Equal Opportunity and Civil Rights requirements, goals,policies, and objectives.

Work Schedule: 8:30am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday

Physical Requirements: Work is primarily sedentary, but involves use of a personal computer so a degree of dexterity and visual acuity sufficient to utilize these tools is required. Some physical effort is required in that the incumbent lifts and carries reference books, working papers and similar items to and from meetings. A moderate amount of standing and walking is required in getting to and from meeting places away from the work site. The work does not require any special physical effort. Occasional travel is required to attend meetings, conferences and specialized technical training.

The Selective Placement Factor for this position is: Experience and skill in applying IT and principles, concepts, standards, and practices relating to electronic health record/data systems. Senior consultant to top agency management officials in order to advise on integrating IT programs with other programs of equivalent scope and complexity and skill in applying database management concepts and techniques and project management principles and methods.

GS-15 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-XX grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: (1) Delivering highly technical analyses of information security policies, strategies, architecture, metrics, risk management, workforce development and business intelligence. (2) Developing and delivers strategies for organizational performance management, risk management, integrated master schedule, business process analysis, continuous process improvement, activity and objectives planning, and program evaluation and reporting.

There is no educational substitution for the GS-15 level.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
