About the Position: Serve as a Emergency Services Manager (Force Protection). The 596th Transportation Brigade provides surface deployment and distribution services from Military Ocean Terminal Sunny Point, Military Ocean Terminal Concord, the West Coast and Alaska, in order to project combat power and lethality and meet our nation's strategic objectives.
Summary
About the Position: Serve as a Emergency Services Manager (Force Protection). The 596th Transportation Brigade provides surface deployment and distribution services from Military Ocean Terminal Sunny Point, Military Ocean Terminal Concord, the West Coast and Alaska, in order to project combat power and lethality and meet our nation's strategic objectives.
Responsible for physical security, law enforcement, fire protection/prevention, anti-terrorism/force protection and installation emergency management that encompasses a variety of sensitive and critical Directorate-wide programs.
Represent the installation for law enforcement, fire protection/prevention, and installation security.
Oversee studies which determine most effective, efficient method of providing Emergency Management services.
Develop and implement the installation antiterrorism/force protection plan.
Manage the current year budgets and forecasts resources for law enforcement, security and fire department in the out-years.
Review and approve architectural blue prints and engineering designs for compliance with physical security and fire protection requirements.
Exercise supervisory responsibility for law enforcement, security and emergency medical response services.
This position is designated Key. In the event of a crisis situation, the incumbent, or designated alternate, must continue to perform the Key duties until relieved . Position requires the incumbent to be screened from military recall status.
Position may require taking series of anthrax vaccine immunizations to include annual boosters. Position may require other immunizations in the future.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Position is a random drug testing position. Incumbent will be subject to pre-employment and periodic urinalysis drug testing.
This position may require business travel (TDY) of approximately 25% of duty time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience assisting with coordinating and managing an Emergency Management Program at the installation level or equivalent; planning and participating in all-hazards exercises and assessments and emergency management exercises with installation staff and regional federal, state and local government activities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
