Summary

This position is located in the FirstNet offices of Reston, Virginia, and/or Boulder, Colorado. The primary purpose of this internship is support the design and execution of the Experience FirstNet program.

Salary: The salary range indicated in this announcement will be adjusted to include locality payment for selected duty location. General Schedule locality pay tables may be found under Salaries & Wages.

Duties

Help
  • Collaborating with FirstNet Authority team members and public safety to design physical and/or virtual/extension broadband experiences for the Experience FirstNet Program and the FirstNet Experience Center.
  • Supporting Product and Partnership Development team members by compiling market research, public safety case study data, and other input sources and developing that data into strategic and/or product roadmap considerations.
  • Consider public safety operational use cases and help to research, evaluate, and potentially integrate existing solutions from the broader technology ecosystem into viable solution considerations for interested agencies.

Qualifications

For this position you must meet the Pathways Internship Eligibility and Minimum Qualification requirements.

Pathways Internship Eligibility:You must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and be currently enrolled, or accepted for enrollment, on at least a half-time schedule as a student at an accredited college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, and trade school; advanced degree programs (e.g., graduate school, law school); or other qualifying educational institution pursuing a degree or certificate. Certificate programs must be one academic year in duration. Must meet the definition of a student throughout the duration of the appointment.

Minimum Qualifications:You qualify for the ZP-1 grade level if you have completed one (1) full academic year of post-high school study from an accredited educational institution. (Copy of transcripts must be submitted)

NOTE: GPAs are to be rounded to one decimal place. For example, 2.95 will round to 3.0 and 2.94 will round to 2.9. If more than 10 percent of your undergraduate course work (credit hours) were taken on a pass/fail or similar basis, your claim must be based on class standing or membership in an honor society. Please submit a college transcript(s) showing your grade point average for all four years of undergraduate study, including all transferred courses.Note: All applicants must provide their most recent documentation of their eligibility (e.g., transcripts, official letters documenting enrollment, etc.) as part of their application package.

This position requires specific coursework and/or a degree to meet the basic education requirement. Your transcript(s) must clearly demonstrate the course(s) listed in the qualification requirement section.
