However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Aircraft Mechanic Leader~ without more than normal supervision. Applicants must meet the screen out elements to be considered further. To meet the screen out elements, applicants should document experience in the following: maintaining and repairing rotary wing aircraft to include changing oil and hydraulic pumps, lubricating aircraft components, and a variety of less complex maintenance functions. Familiar with the shop environment and the ability to lead and prioritize - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

  • Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading)
  • Ability to lead or supervise
  • Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment
  • Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc.
  • Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)
  • Physical effort: Makes repairs, both on and off the aircraft, from work stands, and where parts worked on are in hard-to-reach places. Required to climb, stoop, bend, stretch and in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently required to lift and carry items that weigh about 50 pounds.
  • Working Conditions: Work is performed inside shops, aircraft, or outside in varying weather conditions. Exposed to high frequency and high intensity noises. Dirt, dust, grease, and fumes are normally present. Danger of the possibility of cuts, burns, shocks, strains, falls, and eye or skin irritations is possible.
