Joining the Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations will allow you to use your expertise in visual design and presentation. This position starts at a salary of $102,663.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $133,465.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $133,465.00 (GS-13 Step 10).

Developing original designs, concepts and visual styles for publications, exhibits, presentations and websites that evoke certain responses from the viewer's or that reduce the cost of production, installation, or maintenance of a broad inventory of visual products. Work includes graphic art production, visual information design, publication design, web page design, printing, and a variety of visual information designs.
Managing and updating OFO web pages; posting presentations articles, speeches, testimony, interviews and other message on the applicable web pages.
Serving as a subject matter expert in creative writing for internal articles, newsletters, emails, pamphlets, fact sheets, and issue papers.
Utilizing sophisticated electronic imaging equipment, pen and ink, colored or shading pencils, lettering templates and other tools in order to produce visual products which are informative and eye-catching; utilizing digital cameras, computers, scanners, color and black & white printers, to meet the established deadline for visual products.

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:

Posting presentations articles, speeches, testimony, interviews and other message on the applicable web pages.
Selecting an appropriate presentation-media for communicating important subject matter and facts in a logical and concise manner after consulting with designated program officials on the objectives of the presentation of its intended audience.
Producing graphic art, visual information design, publication design, web page design, and printing, incumbent completes handouts, charts, graphs, digital photographs, compact discs (CDs), and web pages for display or reproduction purposes.
Preparing professional visual products for use in reports, decision papers, compact discs, web pages, implementation documents, summaries, reviews and analyses.
Designing multi-media discs using authoring software.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

You must:

Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and
Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 02/18/2020.
