Major Duties:

  • Monitoring, Event Management, Disaster Recovery/ COOP and Devolution. Provide operational oversight of the change control and configuration management processes within their assigned division.
  • Directs and assigns special projects and studies to subordinate supervisors based on priorities and the ability of the assignees.
  • Plans organizational structure and staff needs to include hiring and making selections to fill vacant positions; making decisions on reassignments, merit and career ladder promotions, and terminations
  • Participates in the research, prototyping and planning; performs technical design, and provides technical advice/assistance in the acquisition process for new, revised and upgraded information systems and software.
  • Applies expert IT knowledges of several functional areas, management principles, functions and processes, project management principles, and a high degree of analytical ability in order to coordinate, monitor, evaluate, and analyze significant IT problems and issues pertaining to the delivery of ECC services to internal and external customers.

Qualifications

The Selective Placement Factor for this position is: Mastery of a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of program effectiveness or the improvement of complex management processes and systems in order to perform operations analysis and project/program management tasks.

Specialized Experience: Knowledge to operate independently with little or no guidance, interpret policies, and develop operating guidelines, policies and processes where none may have previously existed. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position:


Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.

Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Some work may require walking and standing in conjunction with travel and to attendance at meetings and conferences away from the work site. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
