Assist higher level technicians and engineers on projects involving Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and special test stands and systems supporting weapon system production in the Nichols Industrial Complex.
Respond to test equipment failures, assisting higher level technicians and engineers to troubleshoot and analyze the problem to determine origin and cause (i.e. hardware, software, etc.).
Provide technical assistance to Depot personnel engaged in the operation, maintenance, and calibration of Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and other special test equipment and systems.
Assist in the preparation of technical requirements and statements of work for solicitations and contract award.
Provide input for out year equipment budget requirements for replacement or upgrade/modernization of outdated test equipment and systems.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes knowledge of production equipment and must show the ability to interpret manufacturing terminology, data, drawings, specifications and instructions. Knowledge of processes required in the overhaul, repair and/or rebuild of mission items such as combat vehicles, optical instruments, missile guidance systems, artillery small arms, and their assemblies and subassemblies. Knowledge of Facility and Equipment work order submissions and requests complete with drawings, layouts and statements of work. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
