Duties

Help

The incumbent of this position serves as the Supervisory Program Manager (Data Analytics) and principal representative of the Office of the Assistant Inspector General for Investigations. The incumbent manages the Data Analytics Unit within the Office of Investigations, Intelligence Division and is responsible for:

  • Overseeing data analytics to include statistical sampling, risk modeling, and data mining research to support OIG's mission to promote economy, efficiency, and effectiveness and prevent fraud, waste, and abuse in GSA's programs.
  • Directly supervises Investigations staff, establishes systems for monitoring and measuring program accomplishments, and holds them accountable for the management and administration of their respective functional areas.
  • Design and develop software applications to use in a data analytics environment. Using those applications, identify and analyze data and information from multiple sources to support the mission of the OIG.
  • Present analytic findings to the organization through understandable reports and visualizations.
  • Discuss analytic findings to customers and leadership.

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement,

including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.

Specialized Experience for GS-15: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 in

the Federal Service. Specialized Experience is defined as: working within an Office of Inspector General or Data Analytics environment

planning, developing, and executing policies, plans, missions, and goals of the agency's mission: working in and/or

leading an analytics team; and making recommendations to senior management regarding changes to program

direction, staffing, and allocation of funds to improve the quality of service through statistical and data analytics

findings. This experience also includes managing and coordinating the formulation and issuance of policies,

procedures, standard of operations; representing and negotiating with Department and other entities on critical

matters relating to management and policy issues, and experience supervising the operations of an organization's

program essential to the operations of an entire agency.

    • Ability to effectively communicate orally in a clear and concise manner.
  • Your answers to the questions will be used to place you in one of three categories: Best Qualified, Well Qualified, or Qualified [If the use of 4 categories is justified, adjust verbiage].
  • We will verify your answers to the questions in your resume. If your resume doesn’t support your answers, we may lower your score, which could place you in a lower category.
  • Within each category, veterans will receive selection priority over non-veterans.

Additional assessments may be used, and, if so, you will be provided with further instructions. If you are eligible under Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan or GSA’s Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP/CTAP), you must receive a score of 85 or higher to receive priority.
