Summary

This position is located in the Alaska Region, Regional Office, with the Engineering and Information Management Staff.

Duties

Help
  • Serves as Regional liaison to ASC HSPD-12 Personnel Security staff, USAccess, and GSA. Coordinates with LincPass cadre on the Forests and Districts. Conducts training for Forest and Regional Office registrars and activators.
  • Sells administrative maps utilizing Point-of-Sale System (POSS). Maintains, stocks, and manages map machine, including collection officer duties associated with sales. Controls and counts the Regional Office map inventory.
  • Performs administrative duties and provides internal continuity in the office during the absence of other Administrative Assistants.
  • Processes correspondence, awards, appraisals, electronic/hard copy mail, reply dues.
  • Maintains electronic and hard copy files and archives maintenance, directives management.
  • Procures/Micro-purchase of general office supplies.
  • Assists with ConnectHR systems (Paycheck 8, ETS2, eTracker, Outreach Database).
  • Supports Regional Forester, and other Regional Office Directorate as needed.

Qualifications

Basic Requirement:

For the GS-05: You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience are: receiving visitors; processing incoming and outgoing correspondence; and maintaining files and records.

OR- successfully completed a bachelor's degree or 4 years of successfully completed education above high school from an accredited business, secretarial, or technical school, junior college, or university. Transcripts must be included with your application.

OR-a combination of successfully completed post-high school education (in excess of the first 60 semester hours) AND specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 grade level. The combined total must equal 100%. The education must be from an accredited business, secretarial, or technical school, junior college, college or university. Transcripts must be included with your application.

For the GS-06: You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service. Examples include: Provided support and assistance processing a wide variety of requisitions; reconciling purchases and maintaining files in accordance with regulations and agency directives; processed incoming and outgoing mail; established and maintained files, accountable property inventories and other records (hardcopy and/or electronic format); and used automated software to produces reports, correspondence and other written documents in draft form.

OR- One full year (18 semester hours/27 quarter hours) of successfully completed graduate level education from an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university, with coursework directly related to Business Administration/Business Management. Transcripts must be included with your application.

OR-a combination of graduate level education from an accredited college in Business Administration/Business Management AND specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 grade level. The combined total must equal 100%. Transcripts must be included with your application.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
