Duties

Help
  • Advise on use and care of protective equipment.
  • Calibrate Occupational Health equipment, coordinate with co-workers on maintenance of calibration logs, up and down loads and backs up various systems in support of the Occupational Health Program.
  • Screen employees to obtain health history for health appraisal for pre-placement and periodic job related, administrative, and voluntary health maintenance examinations.
  • Maintain Occupational Health Services work environment in an organized manner.
  • Inventory and order medical supplies to assure availability.
  • Operate multiple office automation hardware/software systems to provide computer/data entry support.

  • Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
  • This position requires Basic Life Support training certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross. Current Advanced Life Support or other advanced certification does not supersede BLS completion.
  • Must obtain/maintain Basic Life Support training certificate within 6 months of entry.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
  • A candidate tentatively selected for appointment to this position will be required to sign a statement consenting to annual seasonal influenza vaccination.
  • The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 45 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes receiving requests for appointments on the phone or in person. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

OR

Education: Four year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04).

Most of the civilian workforce participates in a 4 day work week
