Duties

Help

The individual selected for this position will:

  • Provide training when required to staff, including on-site assistance as necessary.
  • Provide technical and administrative guidance to managers of the Area Census Offices (ACO) in order to assure timely, orderly, and efficient conduct of decennial operations.
  • Monitor the ACO recruiting operations by working closely with Census Partnership Specialists, Community Outreach, and Media Partnership Specialists, maintaining contact with appropriate referral services in order to identify recruitment efforts and resolve recruitment and publicity problems.
  • Serve as a technical problem-solver/troubleshooter involving daily telephone contact and regular visits to assigned ACOs and assigned geographical areas.

EXPERIENCE:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the Grade 05 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes experience with basic data collection procedures, providing assistance with training session scheduling, and monitoring quality of work products. 

OR

EDUCATION: One full year of graduate level education OR superior academic achievement.   Education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.

EXPERIENCE: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade 07 level in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes: Experience assisting with the conduct of recruiting of applicants; experience making arrangements for training facilities; experience reviewing the work of office and field staff. Experience providing assistance in areas such as office automation, equipment and administrative operations as well as travel arrangements.

OR

EDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree OR Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. OR J.D., if related.  Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.

EXPERIENCE: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade 09 level in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes: Experience with monitoring and guiding aspects of an organization's recruitment efforts; experience monitoring costs and progress of projects; experience providing oversight to formal training and administrative programs.

OR

EDUCATION: PH.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M., if related.  Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.

GG-0301-12:
EXPERIENCE: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade 11 level in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes: Experience providing oversight to data collection programs and projects; experience analyzing demographic data and information; experience providing quality control oversight for information collected in support of office operations; experience providing administrative support to office management.

EDUCATION:  No substitution of education for experience is permitted.
