Duties

Help
  • Responsible to distribute and balance the workload among employees in accordance with established work flow or job specialization, assure timely accomplishment of the assigned workload.
  • Safeguard Government personnel, information, operations, and critical assets in accordance with a wide variety of Federal rules and agency/local regulations/policies.
  • Safeguarding national defense materials; enforcing personnel access controls to restricted areas; and operating automated security systems to include closed circuit television (CCTV), intrusion detection, alarms and electronic monitoring systems.
  • Perform installation access, usage of physical access control equipment and visitor access on the installations.

  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance based upon a single scope background investigation (SSBI) and eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI). Personnel ineligible for a TS clearance will not be retained.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel may be required 10% or less of the time.
  • Must be willing to undergo a medical examination and meet minimum requirements IAW OPM qualification standards for Guard Series, 085. Personnel unable to meet minimum requirements will not be retained.
  • Must pass periodic medical examinations and required physical agility tests.
  • Must be willing to work irregular hours, shift, holiday, and weekend work.
  • Must qualify with firearm annually on the Military Police Firearms Qualification Course IAW AR 190-56. Personnel found unable to qualify with firearms in two consecutive attempts will not be retained.
  • Must also be trained in the use of firearms semi-annually and follow guidelines established and set forth in AR 190-56.
  • Must be able to pass the Army Defensive Driver Training Course.
  • This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence are not eligible for this position.
  • This position is designated as a KEY position, meaning the position cannot be vacated during war or a national emergency without seriously impairing the mission.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.
  • All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience safeguarding national defense materials and personnel; and/or enforcing personnel access controls to restricted areas; and/or operating automated security systems to include closed circuit television (CCTV), intrusion detection, alarms and electronic monitoring systems used for safeguarding national defense materials and enforcing personnel access controls for restricted areas. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-06).

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Education
