Summary

This position is for the Army Community Recreation Division at West Point Swimming Areas.
Acting as a water safety instructor, manages all swimming lessons and instructs when scheduled, at the assigned aquatics facility.
Develops swim program according to students' ability and promotes students to higher level of swimming according to their skills.
Instructs all levels of swimming and appropriate strokes, to include: front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke, and butterfly.
Teaches students from age groups of infant to adult.
Introduces and instructs safety and survival skills to students, when appropriate to the level of instruction. Instructors work with lifeguards to ensure that swim lessons are safe at all times.
Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
A one year probationary period may be required.
Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty.
Must be willing to accept varying and/or rotating shifts which include nights, weekends and holidays.
The dual compensation guidelines DO NOT apply to this position. All federal government employees, whether regular full-time or regular part-time, are eligible to apply for this position.
Qualifications
1. Work experience related to the duties described above to include: managing swim lessons; developing swim programs; introducing and instructing safety and survival skills.
2. Possession of the following certifications (Certificates issued by the American Red Cross, Ellis @ Associates, Star Guard, or other nationally recognized agencies are acceptable):
Water Safety Instructor Certification
Cardio-Pulminary (CPR) Certification
First Aid Certification
The experience and certifications must be reflected on your resume and certifications must be uploaded at the time of application to be considered eligible for this position.
Highly Preferred:
Possession of a Lifeguard Certification.
This certificate must be reflected on your resume and uploaded at the time of application to be considered a Highly Preferred candidate.
