Summary

Reviews electronic records initiated in the electronic point of sale package form various clinics, inpatient and emergency services; verifies if the prescription is billable as defined by Indian Health Service guidelines and inputs data into system .
Interviews patients and/or family member or uses vista imaging system to obtain pertinent patient registration information such as demographic and alternate resources .
Contacts the healthcare provider for any additional information when services are rendered and for clarification.Researches and follows up on rejected claims online to ensure maximum reimbursement for the facility thru 3rd party resources.
Maintains records and files in accordance with applicable regulations and guidance. Develops and maintains files and completes reports for tracking of billing and reimbursement.
Prepares and dispenses medication thru automated filling processes, compound or intravenous sterile solutions . Preforms product inventory for medications and supplies.
Selectee may be subject to a probationary/trial period
ESEP appointees typically serve a two year trial period

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-07:
1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Experience in providing pharmaceutical nomenclature including characteristics, strengths, and dosage forms of pharmaceuticals; pharmaceutical systems of weights and measures; and the variety of procedures and techniques involved in the care, storage, repackaging, bulk compounding and distribution of pharmaceuticals; experience includes inventory of pharmaceuticals and related supplies; cart filling, patient medical filling, restocking shelves, and acquisition of data to electronic health records OR
Completed 1 year (18 semester hours) of graduate education that is directly related to the work of the position. OR
Combination of education and experience when fully combined meet the minimum qualifications of this position.
