The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Specialized experience: For the GS-12 level, specialized experience is defined as one year of experience at the GS-11 level, or equivalent, that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as experience:
1. Utilizing electronic records processing and digital preservation concepts, laws, regulations, policies, and technology, sufficient to ensure that digitized and born-digital objects can be managed and preserved for short and long-term access.; AND
2. Proposing and implementing technical and procedural solutions and/or strategies for program improvement to assure the continuing effectiveness of activities in support of an agency's digital preservation program.
