Duties

Help
  • You will report to, receive assignments and priorities from The Code 900SD Detachment Production Manager for all projects involving the various trades in the shop.
  • You will be responsible for appropriate personnel, equipment, tooling maintenance and availability to support all Ships' availabilities.
  • You will develop goals and objectives that integrate organization and combat systems production objectives.
  • You will provide technical and administrative supervision over a group of a minimum of 30 civilian and military employees.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Experience determining work priorities and coordinating work between projects and trades to ensure progress of work.
  • Experience managing shop work operations and supervising several supervisors in various trades including electrical, electronics, and tool room/production machinery repair.
  • Experience providing input for the project scheduling and sequencing process.
  • Experience communicating information concerning required material, facilities, resources, and grouping of work for assigned area to project team members.
  • Experience performing ship repair and overhaul and using shipyard instructions to ensure the progress of work.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

As part of the medical surveillance program, the incumbent may be required to take medical examinations to assess his or her medical qualification for duty involving work with these agents.
