The incumbent serves as the Director of Archives with primary responsibility for supervising the day-to-day activities of the Archives Branch. Responsibility includes oversight for special collections of accessioned, historical manuscripts, microfilmed historical records, governmental archives obtained from abroad; and Federal records created by the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM) and Council.

Qualifications
At the GS-14 grade level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level. Specialized experience is experience a) performing exacting research in a wide range of archival materials and related manuscripts in various languages; b) arranging and/or overseeing arranging of collections; c) overseeing or performing preservation measures on archival collections relating to the Holocaust, its background and aftermath; d) ensuring adequate intellectual control over holdings; e) cataloging and other descriptions, including registration information; f) analyzing and interpreting non-current records to appraise their value; and/or performing comparable duties.

Knowledge of relevant holdings and available finding aids in other Foreign and domestic archival institutions.
