About the Position: This position is located at the Maneuver Center of Excellence (MCOE), Fort Benning, Ga. The MCOE is located 100 miles south of Atlanta, Georgia, and is adjacent to Columbus, Georgia and Phenix City, Alabama. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Duties

Help
  • Establishes, maintains and reviews forms and records pertaining to assigned work including reassignment notices, awards, promotions and evaluations.
  • Enters data in automated systems to produce output including reports, orders or personnel data updates as needed.
  • Retrieves data from information sources, both manual and electronic, to answer questions, respond to correspondence or prepare reports and briefings.
  • Meets with service members, dependents or the general pubic t obtain, provide or exchange information necessary to accomplish assignments.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. General Experience: One year of general experience. General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled, such as, Verifying information in service records such as date of birth, length of service, awards and dependent statuses are complete and accurate; Making additions, revisions or deletions to records; Distribute, file for forward documents electronically or by hand to the appropriate personnel.

OR

Education: Two years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of by 60. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-03).
