Duties

Help
  • You will direct, coordinate, and oversee work of subordinate supervisors.
  • You will conduct studies to determine transportation service requirements for the installation.
  • You will develop long range plans giving due consideration to such factors as projected fluctuations in maintenance and operational workloads, budget requirements, manpower requirements and constraints, and equipment availability/condition.
  • You will analyze and maximize equipment utilization.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

  • Temporary appointments may be extended up to 3 years at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Exercising complete supervisory responsibility for the economical, efficient, and timely accomplishment of the administration, operation, maintenance, acquisition and disposition of a rental fleet of automotive and other miscellaneous specialized equipment, including Material Handling Equipment; 2) Directing, coordinating, and overseeing work of subordinate supervisors; 3)Preparing and executing the Base Support Vehicle and Equipment (BSVE) operating budgets using Navy Working Capital Fund and CNIC programs; 4) Developing organizational plans, including a 5 year plan for acquisition of new/replacement Civil

Physical Demands: The work is usually in an office setting with minimal physical demands 90% of the time. May have to visit job sites and walk in unstable terrain and harsh environment. The use of Personal Protective Equipment is mandatory when at job sites.

Work Environment: Work is usually performed in an office setting with occasional visits to job sites, BSVE Product Line spaces, PWD sites, and customer facilities. Some travel will be necessary when conducting assist visits to the various sites under the NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic AOR. Other travel is necessary to various parts of the country to attend conferences or other events. The work involves moderate risks or discomforts that require special safety precautions while in the presence of construction operations. May be required to use protective clothing or gear; i.e., hard hats, coats, steel-toe boots, goggles, gloves, or shields.
