Duties

Help
  • As a Director of Operations (ES/DPTMS), you will be responsible for the following:
  • Serve as the Director of Operations (DOO) Directorate, responsible for execution of operations in support of garrison/tenant units.
  • Program manager for developing/executing all plans essential for the accomplishment of law enforcement, fire protection, prevention, emergency operations, security, contingency planning for disasters, emergency management, command and control.
  • Direct, plan, manage and coordinate DOO programs and resources.
  • Consider recommendations for short and long-range projects with final authority to approve, alter or reject proposals.
  • Exercise full program management responsibility, oversees the overall planning, managing, directing and evaluating operations with full authority to make decisions and commit to a course of action through subordinate supervisors.

  • Position may be designated as emergency or mission-essential and incumbent is subject to recall to duty in times of emergency to perform time-sensitive, mission critical work.
  • The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends and/or holidays. The employee may be required to work overtime.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as: Provides consultation and advice to supported installation, tenant and satellite units on issues related to operational, emergency and disaster plans and policies for the command and assigned units to include: anti-terrorism/force protection planning; deployments; contingency plans; military support; security; taskings; emergency management, ect ; Develop and execute plans essential for the accomplishment of contingency planning for rapid reaction to foreign, domestic and natural disasters; and serving as program manager for military training and training resources; Plans, assigns and evaluates work of subordinates.

The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).

Army Installation Management Command
