The Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE) serves the community of Inspectors General through its mission to address integrity, economy, and effectiveness issues that transcend individual Government agencies; and increase the professionalism and effectiveness of personnel by developing policies, standards, and approaches to aid in the establishment of a well-trained and highly skilled workforce in the offices of the Inspectors General.
Summary
The Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE) serves the community of Inspectors General through its mission to address integrity, economy, and effectiveness issues that transcend individual Government agencies; and increase the professionalism and effectiveness of personnel by developing policies, standards, and approaches to aid in the establishment of a well-trained and highly skilled workforce in the offices of the Inspectors General.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Responsible for planning, directing, and producing multimedia products in support of CIGIE's mission; provides guidance and support as needed for CIGIE's staff and members of the CIGIE community who are responsible for planning, directing, and producing CIGIE-related multimedia products.
Develops, for dissemination through print, web, social, and broadcast media, and information concerning the mission, programs, and accomplishments of CIGIE.
Writes and disseminates news releases and feature articles to print, web, and social media, and selects photographs to accompany releases.
Interviews and confers with senior staff and program specialists to obtain the latest information for use in news releases, web, social media, radio programs, articles, and media, congressional, and other representatives.
Experience in publishing concepts, practices, standards, and technologies for the media used for publication.
Reviews, revises, edits, updates and improves handbooks, regulations, web and social media content, and informational documents that provide standards and instructions concerning government-wide policy; prepares for final signature and publication.
Accomplishes and leads work efforts efficiently, timely, and with high quality results.
Possess strong leadership and management as well as communication, and collaboration skills.
May be required to complete background investigation and drug screening.
A one year trial/probationary period may be required.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level(s) in which you are applying:
GS-11:
Have at least one (1) year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors) performing the following: 1) developing and executing strategies to publicize information about an organization, its programs, initiatives, and policies to the general public or specific audiences; 2) writing and disseminating news releases and feature articles to print, web, and social media and selecting photographs to accompany releases; 3) assisting in planning, writing and editing news articles; graphic design, web, journalism and photography to convey information about an organization to the general public; 4) communicating organizational programs, activities and/or functions to general audiences; and 5) responding to daily social media and web inquiries.
OR
Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D degree from an accredited college or university, which provided me with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position.
OR
Have some specialized experience as described in statement A, but less than one (1) year; and I have more than two (2) years but less than three (3) years of higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D degree as described in statement B. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100%. (To combine education and experience, first divide your total months of qualifying specialized experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond two (2) years (36 semester hours) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify). (Note: Only graduate education in excess of two (2) years (36 semester hours) is creditable toward meeting the experience requirement when combining experience and education. You must submit a copy of your transcripts as proof of any claimed education).
