Duties

Help
  • Performs a variety of welding duties applying various non ballistic certifications in accordance with military specifications.
  • Determines proper welding techniques, and proper materials to use based on the nature of the job being performed.
  • Must be familiar with the welding process to produce desired results. Must be knowledgeable in the repair, modification, and fabrication of industrial equipment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Welder~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common welding task such as utilize light and heavy gages, and hardened metals to weld assigned items, using flat vertical, horizontal and overhead positions to prevent overheating and distortion. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

  • Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision
  • Physical Effort: Work involves standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and crawling. Occasionally work is performed in awkward and hard to reach places. Frequently lifts items weighing 20-50 pounds and occasionally items over 65 pounds.
  • Working Conditions: Most of work is performed in shop buildings that are drafty and noisy. Occasionally performs work outside being exposed to weather extremes. Incumbent is exposed to dirt, grease, odors, smoke, fumes, heat, flying sparks, the glare of torches, and heated materials; possibility of eye injury, electrical shock, broken bones from falls off scaffolds/ladders, and the chance of cuts when working with sharp objects; and discomforts of wearing protective clothing, gloves, flash shield, respirator, etc.
