This position is a part of the Department of Defense (DoD) Office of Inspector General (OIG), Deputy Inspector General for Audit. As a Student Trainee (Financial Clerk), you will be responsible for assisting teams that perform audits of DoD finance and accounting systems, or that conduct performance audits of functions and activities used to carry out DoD responsibilities.

Security Clearance: Position has been designated as Noncritical Sensitive. Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Drug Testing: The incumbent of this position is required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment and is subject to random drug testing for the duration of service with the DoD OIG.
Trial Period: A trial period may be required.
Pathways Agreement: Incumbents must complete a Pathways Participant Agreement upon appointment.
Internship Program Eligibility
Applicants must be currently enrolled or accepted for enrollment and seeking a degree, diploma, or certificate in a qualifying educational institution on a full or half-time basis, as defined by the educational institution.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have completed, or will have completed by their date of hire, at least two years of education above the high school level. The education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college, or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or at least 20 classroom hours per week for a minimum of 36 weeks.
Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. Qualified Category - Meets the minimum qualifications.
Within these categories, applicants eligible for veteran's preference will receive selection priority over non-veterans.
