Help

As a Program Analyst (ERC Coordinator), you will apply analytical techniques and information management skills to capture, assemble and disseminate data for assigned projects. The incumbent conducts analyses, prepares evaluations, coordinates activities, and provides advice to management. Duties include:

  • Helping coordinate key efforts associated with the Engineering Research Center (ERC) program
  • Working collaboratively with other team members or project specialists to restructure work processes, standardize procedures, and manage changes for the supported programs (e.g., ERC program).
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of award procedures and the consistency of their contributions to the accomplishment of organizational/program goals and objectives.
  • Administering assigned budget operations by performing analyses of organizational use of funds allocated to the ERC program.
  • Identifying and advises Division Management Official(s) on financial matters associated with award and contract processing related to program funding.
  • Resolving discrepancies; and handling of accounts of award budget submission against actual budget compliance.
  • Planning, developing, coordinating, organizing, implementing, communicating, and tracking project plans, guidelines, budgets, procedures and timetables including recommending changes in policy and management activities for these projects.
  • Performing management studies to evaluate and measure the progress and success of projects assigned to identify and recommend ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of cross directorate programs and activities.
  • Appling various analytical techniques to data management systems in order to identify patterns and trends.
  • Developing tracking and reporting systems to monitor activities to ensure that activities meet established guidelines and schedules.

Qualifications

To qualify at the GS-12 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal Service. Examples of specialized experience include: using quantitative/qualitative analytical techniques to evaluate the effectiveness of administrative procedures and operations; and to recommend changes to meet short/long-term strategic plans; engaging in on-going analysis of financial matters to determine resources required and ensuring that regulations concerning financial management are adhered to; applying various analytical techniques to data management systems in order to identify and report on patterns/trends; and performing management studies to evaluate and analyze projects, programs, and activities and to recommend solutions to increase efficiency/effectiveness.

Education

Education may enhance skills required for this position; however, no substitution of education for specialized experience may be made at this level.
