Summary
You will serve as a ENGINEERING EQUIPMENT OPERATOR in the Public Works Branch, Installation & Environmental Division of MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO.
This announcement uses the OPM Federal Wide direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.
You will operate different sets of controls simultaneously (e.g., gear shifting, clutches, brakes, steering controls) while maneuvering equipment to prepare ground for construction.
You will operate trucks to transport supplies, materials, equipment, tools, or tow equipment to work site.
You will inspect and schedule maintenance of engineering equipment and attachments for operational performance.
You will follow written instructions, maintenance standards, manufacturer's specifications, and standard operating procedures for safe and effective operation of engineering equipment.
You will make decisions concerning loading and arranging cargo, clearances, turning radius, braking distances, and distance from the preceding vehicles.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
