This vacancy announcement is for a Dual-Status Technician position which requires active membership in the New Jersey National Guard (uniformed military service). Official appointment is not effective until membership within the New Jersey National Guard is confirmed by the gaining Human Resources Office.
All permanent, on-board, Title 32 Employees within the New Jersey National Guard
All New Jersey National Guard members (M-Day, Traditional, Active Guard Reserve, and Drill-Status Guardsmen)
Individuals eligible for membership in the New Jersey National Guard
Military Grades: SSGT/E-5 to MSGT/E-7
Compatible Military Assignments: 2A5XX
Selectee has one (1) year to obtain required AFSC
Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Qualifications
General Experience:
Experience or training that has provided the candidate with sufficient knowledge to complete the work of this occupational series. Experience or training which demonstrates the candidates ability to lead other technicians engaged in the duties performed by this occupational series.
Specialized Experience:
Must have at least 24 months of specialized experience or training in the following areas:
Journeyman level knowledge
Demonstrating the ability to plan, organize, and lead the work of others in fields related to repair
Ability to perform administrative and interpret a variety of technical publications
Ability to provide guidance to others in work related directly to this occupational series
