Duties

Help

In this position, you will responsible for:

  • Serving as the primary advisor to the Assistant Inspector General for Management (AIGM) on various programs and engagements.
  • Overseeing and providing direction in program areas related to budget formulation and execution, procurement, contracting support services, space facilities and property management, human capital, human resources, information technology, internal controls, quality controls, management analysis and planning.
  • Setting long range goals and objectives, translate objectives into specific Office of Management (OM) and/or OIG projects, determine program emphasis, plan for long range staffing and organization needs, manage organizational changes, and decide on the full range of personnel actions affecting the OIG workforce. As a primary change agent this role serves as a champion for cultivating a highly talented, diverse, and inclusive work environment throughout the OIG workforce.
  • Supporting the OIG in evaluating, assessing, and implementing necessary process improvement actions to increase operational efficiency. This position is expected to identify a variety of organizational weaknesses (e.g., process, tools, or procedures) in an effort to support leadership in developing and/or executing planned internal reviews and any directives updates and reports (e.g., OIG’s Management Action Plan, etc.).

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

The work experience described in your resume must clearly reflect that you have performed work that meets the specialized experience requirement for this position, as defined below, or your application will be rated "Ineligible". Your resume must clearly demonstrate, through examples of work, that you meet the specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: 

  • Experience directing the long range strategic, tactical, and operational direction of support and/or administrative programs such as: Budget and Results; Human Resources and Information Technology; Assessing and analyzing policy and program effectiveness; and Providing comprehensive management advisory services to senior management.

  • Knowledge of management principles and evaluation techniques related to management programs and/or systems which contributes to organizational development and improvement.

  • Ability to analyze organizational and operational problems and develop solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally in support of the goals and objectives of an organization.
