Duties

Help
  • Brief decision makers at Command level and key customer activities, targeting presentation to audience interest and program involvement.
  • Coordinates with Government Intelligence agencies to ensure collaboration with other Intelligence analysts.
  • Inform the command staff on intelligence matters leading to the effective use of assessments on foreign threats affecting ground forces deployed overseas or to OCONUS theaters.
  • Analyzes political/military situations affecting capabilities, vulnerabilities and probable course action by governments and military forces of assigned geographic area.
  • Plans assignment objectives, researches and assembles source materials, analyzes subject/topic, justifies conclusions, and prepares written reports/products and briefings to communicate results to superiors and consumers.
  • Uses research and collection methods and analytical applications to validate analytical conclusions and integrate contributions from other analysts in order to prepare completed intelligence products.
  • Assesses the relevance and significance of developments which would change the overall combat capabilities of the military forces of countries in incumbents? assigned area.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on an SSBI with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Periodically, especially during periods of crisis, will be required to work overtime/irregular shift.

In order to qualify, you must meet the Specialized experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) performing intelligence research and/or threat analysis; 2) writing intelligence reports and/or databases to communicate results to superiors and consumers; AND, 3) identifying political and/or military situations affecting capabilities and/or vulnerabilities within the Intelligence Community (IC).This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-11).

Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled.This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.

Education
