Duties

Help
  • You will monitor, maintain, and develop content for all the Naval History and Heritage Command's official social media sites.
  • You will provide and create historically accurate material to be shared and published on the Command's social-media websites.
  • You will provide personal research services in the collections of other institutions when required to meet official needs.
  • You will implement the social media strategy, coordinating with stakeholders across the Command.

Qualifications

GS-11 Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate most or all of the following: 1) Providing and creating historically accurate material to be shared and published on social media websites; 2) Administering content development in digital environments; 3) Planning and executing web-based communication content delivery; 4) Producing talking papers and/or oral presentations; and 5) Assisting senior specialists with writing communications plans.

GS-09 Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Investigating new social media sites for possible posting; and 2) Providing and creating historically accurate material to be shared and published on social media websites.

Education

The following can be substituted in order to meet the minimum qualification requirements of this position:

This position is eligible for part time, full time or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.

Term appointments may be extended up to 8 years at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations. Additionally, you may be noncompetitively converted to a permanent career-conditional or career appointment under specific conditions.
