Serve as a consultant and advisor to key Army and OCPA staff on all public information (internal and external), planning and operational matters.
Advise Army staff on public information/public affairs matters.
Serve as a senior Public Affairs Specialist responsible for researching, assembling, writing and disseminating sensitive, critical and complex information.
Review and analyze programs and policies for their relationship to public opinion.
Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the internal information, news media relations and community relations programs in achieving greater understanding of the Army's mission and programs.

This position may be converted to permanent career or career-conditional appointment without further competition as long as all requirements are met. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with creating media contacts as appropriate to build relationships with media representatives; assisting with media inquiries while meeting individual media deadlines; preparing news releases to the news media; analyzing programs and developing recommendations to assist program officials.
