This position is the Policy and Communications Specialist located in the United States Trustee Program, Executive Office for United States Trustees. The incumbent of this position will serve as a principal advisor to leadership on all matters relating to communications that involve the Program's mission objectives, positions, policies, and accomplishments.
Summary
This position is the Policy and Communications Specialist located in the United States Trustee Program, Executive Office for United States Trustees. The incumbent of this position will serve as a principal advisor to leadership on all matters relating to communications that involve the Program's mission objectives, positions, policies, and accomplishments.
Primary responsibilities of the Policy and Communications Specialist are:
Serves as the central researcher, writer, editor, proofreader, and production coordinator for various deliverables.
Develops responses to all press inquiries and related matters.
Develops and manages annual, statutorily-mandated public and congressional inquiries.
Manages USTP's weekly and monthly reports, and prepares USTP's Annual Report of Significant Accomplishments.
Prepares and publishes USTP policies and procedures under the direction of the Director, three Deputy Directors, and Office of Planning and Evaluation's Assistant Director.
Reviews work of others for editorial quality, consistency, and compliance with established style, format, and content.
Serves as the point-of-contact for resolving discrepancies between the website and information management system.
Prepares Congressional testimony and other written materials.
Establishes and implements new presentation formats and arranges work priorities and routines.
You may be required to complete a probationary period of no more than one year.
Selective Service registration is required, as applicable.

You may be required to complete a successful background investigation (including fingerprint and drug testing).
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications Requirement
For the GS-13 level, you must have at least one-year of specialized experience equivalent to work experience in the Federal service at the GS-12 or equivalent grade-level.
For the GS-14 level, you must have at least one-year of specialized experience equivalent to work experience in the Federal service at the GS-13 or equivalent grade-level.
Examples of equivalent specialized experience are: Write policies and procedures for use within an office or organization; Draft written materials that are reviewed for conformance to established standards or reviewed by higher-level officials for accuracy and quality; Provide editorial and proofreading assistance to lower-level staff to ensure written communication meets style and format guidance; independently composes written communication that is generally accepted by your superiors; Manage an electronic filing system for easy retrieval of recently issued written materials; and Review written materials going outside your agency, to another agency/organization, or to Congress or other public/federal office. Education
