Assists in planning and organizing a wide range of training. Serve as an instructor responsible for the direct delivery of training programs in an employee development section. Responsible for assisting with training needs analysis, designing new or revising current courses and developing performance measures to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the MCCS training program. Reviews, updates, analyzes, evaluates and makes recommendations for training content. Researches, plans, and develops course materials that are technically and procedurally sound and in accordance with prescribed course framework such as; study guides, visual aids, simulations, written tests, training aids, and course outlines. Organizes, illustrates, interprets, and adapts instructional material as required to reach and motivate employees.
May coordinate the training program with other MCCS personnel, research outside sources and obtain information, materials and costs to meet instructional needs.
Participates in special projects such as pilot programs, process improvement teams, focus groups, and working groups.
May conduct training using criterion reference instruction methodology and modules, independent study, performance based training, hands on, lecture based training, and/or e-learning. Coordinates arrangements for training with appropriate functional areas to include; room set up, administration of pre-class activities, publicity, preparing equipment and supplies, maintaining accountability of statistics (i.e., attendance, completion rate), entering training accomplishments in the human resources management information system, and completion of other post training activities deemed appropriate or required.
Assists in developing guidelines, instructional methods, course materials and training aides. May include design and development of classroom training, synchronous and asynchronous e-learning, and/or m-learning. Conducts training course evaluations and provides input for course improvement. Assists in identifying, evaluating and accomplishing future training initiatives.
Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment, and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.
Four years of specialized experience in employee development/training and/or instructional design that demonstrates a wide range of training methods, techniques, and tools to facilitate soft skills training such as, but not limited to; Customer Service, Leadership, Coaching/Mentoring, Problem Solving, etc. Ability to manage a variety of normal classroom situations. Must be able to independently plan and conduct training sessions within prescribed course framework. Experience in conducting interviews, needs assessments, and surveys to identify training needs, evaluate training plans and identify goals and objectives. Experience in developing training that compliments overall human resources goals to attract, retain and develop employees to achieve organizational goals and objectives. Skill to conduct training classes with a variety of content. Skill to analyze, evaluate and make recommendations to develop new approaches, modify work methods/procedures and promote new programming. Skill in using a computer with a working knowledge of Word, Power Point, and Publisher to enhance training materials and techniques. Skill with using other computer programs such as, Captivate, Flash, Fireworks, Roxio, Camtasia, Articulate, or Rapid Intake is preferred. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.
