Duties

Help
  • The incumbent works directly with HQ, military, civilian and local nationals in executing the logistic support mission for an oversight agency in a hostile environment.
  • May serve as the acting in-theater program manager in his/her absence and may be required to operate for brief periods at other OIG contingency operation locations.
  • Coordinates with HQ and local command on matters related to continuity of operations; provides OIG personnel medical treatment, medical evacuation, emergency leave assistance.
  • Serves as the property accountability officer for OIG and military equipment; conducts monthly and annual property reconciliations; must have experience utilizing military supply, warehousing, and maintenance systems.
  • Manages transportation, shipping, and personnel movement utilizing both military and commercial systems to transport personnel and property throughout and in/out of theater.
  • Serves as a government purchase card holder for the purchase of supplies in theater.
  • Reviews and receives classified briefings on security posture and physical security requirements.
  • Serves as Contracting Officer Representative (COR); assists in developing, refining, and reviewing pre-award documents.

  • Position has been designated as Critical. Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • Incumbent is required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment and is subject to random drug testing for the duration of service with DoD OIG.
  • Current DoD civilian employees are not required to submit to drug testing if moving from one Testing Designated Position (TDP) to another with no break in service, unless deemed appropriate on a case-by-case basis.
  • If you have not previously completed a probationary period with the Federal government in a similar position, you will be required to serve a two-year probationary period.

Qualifications

You must meet the specialized experience described below.

Specialized Experience: You must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-12 level in the Federal service or at an equivalent level. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) serving as a logistics management specialist; 2) managing weapons and ammunitions for an agency to include entrance requirements within a foreign country; 3) using specialized equipment that supports ground transportation and movement control; 4) experience with movement of personnel, sensitive items, equipment, and furnishings in a hostile environment; and 5) providing support to facilitate visits by executive level staff.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
