This position is located within the Counterintelligence (CI) Operations Division, CI Directorate,
Defense Security Service (DSS), Department of Defense (DoD).


As a INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST you will be responsible for the following duties:

- Support a higher headquarters in planning, organizing, resourcing, and overseeing field CI, intelligence or law enforcement activities
- Manage or responsible at a higher headquarters for the quality control and oversight of field CI, intelligence or law enforcement collection activities
- Research open sources and classified information for information relevant to suspicious contact reports or threat information, which was included in the production of an Intelligence Information Report (IIR)
- Provide CI, intelligence or law enforcement expertise and guidance to industrial security related entities in order to thwart attempts by foreign intelligence and commercial enterprises to obtain protected and classified U.S. information and technology

Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, and will typically be demonstrated by working at, or immediately below the level of the job being advertised, for a year or more. The previous work experience must clearly demonstrate the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Specialized experience required for this position is: Thorough understanding of the intelligence and operations cycle, asset management, requirements management, and collection management. In addition, a thorough understanding of the concepts, principles, practices, and techniques associated with intelligence, counterintelligence, law enforcement, human collection , and related disciplines. This includes knowledge of terminology, methodology, and intelligence collection techniques as well as knowledge of FIE tradecraft, operations, and collection methodology when targeting microelectronics technology and research information.
