The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's role is to oversee various aspects of the energy industry, including transmission of electricity, natural gas and oil. We also analyze proposals to build liquefied natural gas terminals and interstate natural gas pipelines and license hydropower projects. To help support the modernization of the electric system here in the U.S., we are focusing on issues associated with a smarter grid.
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate for an exciting full-time permanent position within the Division of Pipeline Certificates. The position is located in the Washington Office, and the incumbent will serve as an engineer.
Major Duties for the Engineer:
Assists in performing analyses of pipeline flow diagrams and annual pipeline capacity reports filed by jurisdictional pipeline companies.
Assists senior staff in performing computer modeling of portions of, or entire, pipeline transportation systems.
Performs support duties such as abstracting cost and economic data from post certificate filings and annual reports, makes mathematical computations and develops chart and graphs, as needed.
Must provide most recent SF-50 containing grade/step information.
Successfully complete a background investigation.
Some travel may be required.
