Duties

Help
  • Serves as installation non-appropriated fund (NAF) operations specialist for all camps in the ASG-Kuwait area of responsibility.
  • Advises and assists the Director of Installation Support (DIS) and MWR Recreation Specialist Supervisor in the planning, development and implementation of all installation morale welfare recreation fund (IMWRF) activities.
  • Conducts analyses and studies of assigned program objectives, policies and procedures to determine that existing program processes and systems are adequate and properly applied to achieve program objectives
  • Coordinates with ASG-KU area of responsibility units concerning the disbursement and accounting of unit NAF expenditures.
  • Develops studies and analysis to determine the effectiveness and efficiency of projects, programs, and problem resolution efforts.
  • Prepares minutes of council meetings, conducts necessary coordination and obtains the approval or disapproval from the ASG-KU command

  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • The incumbent is required to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position may require the incumbent to work overtime on a regular basis to accommodate peak workflow or respond to emergency situations, often under severe time constraints.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Review departmental budgets, conduct cost-benefit analyses, and develop long- and short-term budgets; and 2) Planning and analysis to determine how to effectively manage cash flow and expenditures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).

  • Direct deposit of pay is required.
  • U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement.
  • Locality pay does not apply in the overseas area.
  • Employees (and family members) who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only.
  • Pay retention may be offered to successful applicants for positions at overseas locations. For this provision to apply to employees already overseas, the selected individual would have to require a permanent change of station move and would have to be selected as a result of a recruitment effort that had been extended outside of the overseas command involved.
