Duties

Help

Duties include, but not limited to the following:
- Supervises food service/delivery to patients and assures that polices and procedures are followed.
- Performs administrative tasks such as: certifies daily tours, approves leave requests, time keeping, evaluates employee performance, counsels employees and reviews grievance and/or other filing and provides timely and complete responses.
- Participates in providing training for subordinates and makes adjustments in work assignments to meet training needs.
- Enforces safety and energy conversation programs.
- Assures adherence to established sanitation policies and procedures.
- Ensures that subordinates exercise care in handling of equipment in order to prevent injury to employee and damage the equipment.
- Assures the diet office functions accurately in processing computerized orders received from patient wards for diet orders, changes and patient movements.
- Participates in the initial planning of current and future work schedules, budget requests, budget estimates, staffing needs and recommendations as to the most efficient scheduling of projected work.
- Participates in the overall cost control by assuring correct usage of supplies and equipment;- Maintains a balanced workload among subordinate workers and adjusts workloads as necessary to meet deadlines

Work Schedule: 4:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., 11:00 a.m - 7:30 p.m. or 5:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.; Weekends and Holiday Rotation

EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Incumbent is subject to continuous standing and walking, and frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling and bending. Frequently lifts or moves objects that weighing up to 40 pounds.
