Duties

Help
  • Applies business process engineering concepts and methods sufficient to assist in studies to identify potential improvements in the way Information Technology (IT) is applied to key business processes.
  • Performs routine and recurring assignments in the identification and resolution of issues and problems.
  • Assist in the development of requirements and specifications for IT systems that meet business needs. Provides advice and guidance to managers and customers on the merits of proposed systems development projects and solutions.
  • Provides technical leadership on group projects. Interprets IT policies, standards and guidelines.
  • Applies information security and information assurance policy, principles, and practices.

Qualifications

Experience, education and/or specialized training sufficient to demonstrate knowledge and skill in applying: Systems analysis concepts and techniques; Structured analysis principles; Customers' business processes and operations; Cost-benefit analysis methods; and-Internet technologies. Some examples of ways to qualify for this position are:

Option 1
Possess a graduate degree in one of the following fields of study: computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, information technology or technology management

Option 2
Possess a graduate level education that includes a minimum of twenty-four (24) semester hours in one or more of the following fields (computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, information technology or technology management) AND required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

Option 3
Have had specialized training where you have earned an Information Technology (IT) Certification that has provided you with the demonstrated knowledge and skills in applying the following: Systems analysis concepts and techniques;AND Structured analysis principles; AND Customers' business processes and operations; AND Cost-benefit analysis methods; AND Internet technologies.

Option 4
Possess at least one (1) year of experience performing duties that have provided you with the following knowledge and skills: Systems analysis concepts and techniques; AND Structured analysis principles; AND Customers' business processes and operations; AND Cost-benefit analysis methods; AND internet technologies.

Option 5
Possess a combination of the above listed experience, education and specialized training to provide you with the following knowledge and skill: Systems analysis concepts and techniques; AND Structured analysis principles; AND Customers' business processes and operations; AND Cost-benefit analysis methods; AND Internet technologies.
EXAMPLES OF THESE COMBINATIONS ARE:
-Above high school education with a major emphasis in one or more of the following fields: computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, information technology or technology management PLUS less than 1 year specialized experience
-Above high school education with a major emphasis in one or more of the following fields: computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, information technology or technology management PLUS some specialized training
-Less than 1 year specialized experience PLUS specialized training

In addition to the minimum qualifications listed above, a HIGHLY PREFERRED candidate will ALSO possess:

  • *CompTIA certifications (A+, Network +, and/or Security +) Server 2012 certification (or training); AND
  • *Database administration experience. Examples of this experience would be use of Rectrac (a system that manages inventory, cash sales, tracking invoicing/receipts); Child, Youth Management System (a system that is used for data entry, training and tracking patron cash flow); Active Directory (a information technology system used to update employee workstation and contact information; AND
  • *Experience maintaining, managing, troubleshooting and upgrading computer systems, hardware, software, server performance and security related issues; AND
  • *Experience planning, implementing, installing and maintaining all data services to include phones, computers and printers; AND
  • *Experience providing customer (end-user) support for all information technology (IT) related issues.
Experience/education/certifications MUST be reflected on your resume and your degree/transcript/certification MUST be uploaded at the time of application to be considered for this position as a minimally qualified or highly preferred candidate.
