This position is located in the Office of Communications, Export-Import Bank of the United States and is responsible for providing support to the public affairs program and accomplishing activities that involve research and preparation of written materials for the program.
Under the supervision of the Senior Vice President of Communications, the incumbent serves as a specialist performing work related to public affairs program activities and responds to media inquiries.
At the full performance level, duties include, but are not limited to:
Researches, writes and distributes agency press releases on EXIM policies and programs. including small businesses that have successfully used the Bank's short-term insurance, working capital guarantees and new small -business products.
Researches and writes talking points on matters of general interest regarding the agency. Create and maintain media lists for press release distribution and other uses.
Provides public affairs support to the board of directors by modifying or repurposing materials prepared for the chairman or others, or in some cases may assist in the preparation of original materials.
Researches, writes and maintains a database of statistics and narrative stories about companies that have successfully used the Bank's programs.
Develops original content, edits and/or modifies content for the Bank's external web site. Develops ideas for and/or contributes to the development or execution of website features, videos, and social media.
Assists in the organization of special events including press conferences, meetings and roundtables to advance EXIM Bank's public affairs strategies. Serves on an as-needed basis as a back-up photographer for agency events held at headquarters; such as signing ceremonies and high-level meetings.

Specialized Experience (Credit for Specialized Experience on resume must reflect 40 hours/Full-time per week for each period of work):
GS-09: You must have one (1) year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal Government.
Specialized experience includes:
Experience providing communications and/or marketing support for a government agency, elected official, business group, trade association, or media organization.
Experience planning and implementing external and internal communications efforts to inform and educate specific constituencies and the general public about an organization's core mission and programs.
Experience using software such as Adobe Creative Suite or other graphic design software, Sprout Social or other social media software, Google Analytics or other digital analytics tools, or similar systems.
If you are substituting education for experience to qualify for at this level, you must have 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Master's degree or a Master's or equivalent graduate degree.
OR
If you are combining both education and experience to qualify for this level, equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for this grade level.
GS-11: You must have one (1) year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal Government. Specialized experience includes:
Experience providing administrative and communications support for a government agency, elected official, business group, trade association, or media organization.
Experience planning and implementing external and internal communications efforts to inform and educate specific constituencies and the general public about an organization's core mission and programs.
