Summer interns work in JAG offices throughout the world. Internships are temporary civilian positions and do not constitute permanent federal employment. GENERAL INFORMATION: The United States Air Force Judge Advocate General's (JAG) Corps hires approximately 30 first-year and second-year law students each summer to work as legal interns at Air Force JAG offices throughout the United States. JAG summer interns (Law Clerk) work as temporary civil service employees performing a variety of legal assignments. Interns do not incur any military service obligation for their internships. The majority of interns will be assigned to base legal offices throughout the United States. A few individuals will be assigned to a legal office in the National Capital Region (NCR). Unlike interns assigned to base legal offices who will work in multiple areas of law throughout the summer, interns assigned to the NCR will generally work in one subject matter area.
