This announcement is open to current permanent employees of the Department of
Veterans Affairs (including the facility where this vacancy is located) including VA Title 38,
Title 38 Hybrid, and Canteen employees serving on excepted appointments covered by the
interchange agreement.
Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Maintains the Time and Attendance System for assigned units within Nursing Service on a daily basis.
Reviews hours posted in Acustaf by supervisors, prepares discrepancy reports and follows up with supervisors on missing information schedules.
Initiates and coordinates databases and archives of Time and Attendance information and pertinent regulations.
Acts as a liaison between Nursing Service and payroll on time management and in resolving employee payroll discrepancies.
Serves as a source for technical inquiries regarding Time and Attendance reports and data as well as Acustaf for verification on a daily basis.
Provides customer service by phone, email or walk-in for employees and supervisors by answering questions regarding pay or leave.
Coordinates with Nursing Administrative Officers on a variety of personnel management matters.
Reviews and Interprets Time and Attendance Regulations.
Performs work involving the collection, compilation and/or tracking of data and statistical information in support of Nursing Time Management.
Reviews and/or drafts revisions of Standard Operating Procedures, regulations and/or policy on related administrative support matters.
Reviews hours posted in Acustaf by supervisors, prepares discrepancy reports and follows up with supervisors on missing information schedules.
Monitors schedules daily for scheduling changes. Posts schedules daily.
Receives , routes and logs outgoing correspondence and reports.
Composes and types letters, memoranda, and other narrative documents.
Assists the administrative staff by facilitating the administration of equipment and property of the organization.
Serves as backup for meeting attendance or briefing as office representative on administrative matters.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 02/12/2019.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Qualifying specialized experience for this position is documented experience performing a wide variety of administrative duties in support of management to include maintaining time and attendance for employees; collecting, compiling, and tracking data and statistical information; preparing reports; providing charts and graphs for presentations and briefings; and preparing, composing and reviewing correspondence. (This experience must be supported by your resume to be creditable.

Typing Proficiency: This position requires the skills of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting the experience requirement, you must be able to type at least 40 words per minutes.
You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position:
1. Ability to utilize automated tracking systems.

3. Ability to provide assistance with reports, graphs, and charts.
4. Ability to provide administrative support.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary. Physical demands do not exceed those of a typical office setting. There may be some walking, standing, bending, or carrying of light items.
