Duties

Help

Provides broad management advisory services. Monitors the overall operations of the Military Personnel Data System. Plans, directs and performs system management, quality assurance, system inquiry, trend analysis, small computer operations/management and system research. Provides staff advisory guidance to the MPF, Units, Commanders and other base or Geographically Separated Unit (GSU) functional activities on solutions and feasible approaches to the utilization of the Military Personnel Data System in specific, and the human resources military program in general. Coordinates with AF, Air Reserve Personnel Center, The National Guard Bureau, Air National Guard State Headquarters and base functional areas on new data human resources programs and system procedures. Administers Military Personnel Data System training programs for the MPF and other users of the system. Analyzes and compares data between the military personnel data system and interfacing systems.Advises managers of methods to limit invalid data input and suggest enhancements to procedures based on a broad knowledge of the human resources career field. Provides system administration and performs system management. Monitors and controls the input/output for MILPDS. Serves as the DEPCON systems administrator. Serves as Automatic Data Processing Equipment custodian for PC III and local unit computer hardware. Prepares comprehensive human resources management reports. Develops, establishes and maintains work function training programs. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Must hold the grade of E-3 thru E-6.
  • Compatible Military Assignment 3F0X1, 3F2X1, or 3F3X1 AFSC or able to obtain it within one year.

  • For positions requiring the operation for motor vehicle, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
  • For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.

Military Grades: E-3 thru E-6

Compatible Military Assignments: 3F0X1, 3F2X1, or 3F3X1 AFSC or are able to obtain it within one year of hire

Must have each of the following:
1. Basic knowledge and experience of personnel programs gained in a classroom or as an on-the-job trainee.
2. Basic knowledge competency of human resources business elements and can discuss terminology, concepts, principles, and issues related to this competency.
3. Experience in using reference and resource materials and experienced in program functions such as, maintaining personnel records, counseling, or classification and assignments.
4. Experiences may include performing personnel functions associated with preparing and maintaining position descriptions and manual records, personnel classification or usage, quality force management, managing personnel records and researching record data.
5. Experience in operating a computer, utilizing multiple computer programs, and performing keyboard functions.

Education

Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position.

10. Per ARNG-HRH Policy Memorandum #10-39, mandatory Full Time Staff (FTS) training is required within a year of hire as a condition of employment in vacancy announcements for both Technician and Active Guard Reserve positions. Failure of new FTS personnel to complete NGB prescribed courses at PEC within the first year of employment may be cause for reassignment to other full time positions or termination of their employment.
11. Current COANG Technicians and AGRs hired for a position in which an MCR is required will remain in their current status unless/until the MCR is approved. In the event the MCR is not approved, they are accepting the position in their current status.
