The Office of Inspector General (OIG), is seeking a highly skilled and motivated person to serve as a budget analyst in the Office of Management and Administration. Incumbent assists with and/or independently plans, organizes and carries out activities involving all phases of the OIG budget and financial management processes; develops budget estimates; reviews program justifications to determine adequacy of submissions; prepares budget and performance integration documents for budget submission and strategic and annual plans; performs analysis of program fund requirements; presents budget justifications to internal and external senior officials; advises program managers on the status and availability of funds; and monitors and reports on the execution of the budget.

Applicants must have at least 52 weeks of service equivalent to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position. Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position being filled. To qualify for the GS-9 grade level, applicants must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 grade level. To qualify for the GS-11 grade level, applicants must possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 grade level. Examples of specialized experience are:
Experience in formulating, justifying, presenting and executing an annual operation budget.
Applying analytical and research techniques sufficient to conduct fact finding.
Recommending alternative solutions to problems.
The successful applicant for this position will possess the following KSAs/competencies: (Applicants need not prepare written responses to these KSAs, unless asked in the online application.)
1. Ability to apply analytical data.
2. Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
3. Skill in the use of a variety of software applications.
