Duties

Help
  • Serve as a Public Affairs Specialist in the Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) Public Affairs Office. Responsible for conceiving, creating and executing high impact social media campaigns across a variety of efforts.
  • Develop and implement the ANC digital and social media strategy including its public application and website that informs and educates both internal and external audiences about ANC, its mission, and its value to the Army and the Nation.
  • Produce and distribute content through social media platforms, ANC's public application, ANC Explorer, and ANC's website.
  • Coordinate, plan and development of ANC-related content among digital and social media contributors across the Army, Department of Defense and other federal agencies.
  • Design a variety of informational media used to inform target audiences about ANC activities, programs, and goals.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes aiding in the creation of informational media to inform target audiences about an organization's mission, policies, history and events; utilizing a variety of social media platforms to accurately portray the organization's mission; utilizing social media platforms to communicate varied educational curriculums and programs; working collaboratively with varied stakeholders to include Veteran Service or Military Service Organizations, school groups/educators and commercial media to drive engagement through social media platforms; analyzing social media programs to determine their effectiveness and best practices.. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
