Duties

Help

As a Program Analysis Officer you will serve as the Deputy to the Regional Inspector General (DRIG) in the Office of the Evaluation and Inspections (OEI).

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Plan, direct , and coordinate the program activities assigned to the Regional Office;
  • Serve as day to day supervisor for those evaluations;
  • Directs the development of the comprehensive design, discussion guide and data collection instruments for each national project;
  • Monitors the ongoing nationwide evaluations assigned to the regional staff to ensure that the planned inspection objectives are being satisfied;
  • Identify and plan research and analyze topics for evaluations with high potential for improvement of Department's programs;
  • Provide consultation and advice to team leaders and program analysts on highly complex, unique and/or controversial issues and problems present by individual evaluations.

Qualifications

Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: includes but is not limited to, planning and directing comprehensive evaluations of health and social service programs (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, and Public Health Services); identifying complex programmatic and management issues; performing complex analytical studies and synthesizing results to recommend program improvements; utilizing qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques; and communicating technical and non-technical information to a diverse audience in a clear and concise manner.
