Duties

Help
  • Stand up and run a Delegated Examining Unit.
  • Provide recruitment and advisory services by working with hiring officials in developing recruitment strategies, decisions, and job analyses and ensuring compliance with the OPM standards and relevant law, regulation and policy.
  • Maintain continuing awareness of and performs research in human resources law, regulation and policy; determines effect on operations and policies, recommend methods to address new requirements, and integrate into current operations.
  • Participate in special projects or studies in areas of responsibility; develops project plans and objectives; conducts projects; document results and provide recommendations. Participate in planning sessions and advising on issues.
  • Utilize electronic and manual information systems and for internal reporting requirements such as metrics; enter and track information to produce reports; identify and document problems, and work with responsible staff to resolve problems.

  • Required urinalysis for illegal drug use prior to appointment and subject to random drug testing thereafter.
  • Drug testing is not required for DoD civilian employees moving by transfer or reassignment from one DoD Testing Designated Position to another with no break in service.
  • Current (unexpired) Delegated Examining Unit certification.

Qualifications

You must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-12 level in the federal service or at an equivalent level. Specialized experience is defined as experience in the area of recruitment, staffing and placement. This experience involved regularly performing duties such as: working with hiring officials to develop recruitment strategies for a variety of occupations and grades in the competitive service; researching law and regulation relating to delegated examining recruitment; developing policies and procedures; and presenting training and briefings on recruitment and staffing under delegated examining.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Status candidates must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade level).
