Duties

Help
  • Reviews contracts and technical data packages to identify the specification requirements which the contractor's processes must meet.
  • Establishes and maintains communications with contractor's program points of contact.
  • Reviews and ensures flow-down of contract requirements to the contractor's inspection system and/or quality management system.
  • Assesses the contractor's purchased material/vendor Quality Assurance controls.
  • Designs, plans and implements an effective risk management program.
  • Prepares surveillance plans tailored to a level of detail appropriate to the size, complexity and criticality of a supplier's facility and contracts.
  • Performs evaluations of supplier quality systems using existing credible data.
  • Accepts products/technical services, and authorizes delivery, on behalf of the Government.

QUALIFICATIONS: In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level GS-09 . Specialized experience is defined as: experience examining and/or testing ammunition products to identify defects or deviations from specified requirements to determine conformity. Experience reviewing contracts or quality procedures for technical requirements, and interpreting blueprints or drawings for product specifications. Experience gathering data to analyze unsatisfactory conditions or trends, and taking or recommending corrective action.

Education can be substituted for experience.

About the Position: Individuals in this four-year Emergency-Essential (deployable) status can expect repeated deployments to combat locations overseas in support of contingency operations as mission requirement are determined. These locations are typically in a designated combat zone. Generally, the deployed work locations have power, water, heating, and air conditioning, although outages should be expected. The living conditions will vary widely: ranging from having all basic amenities such as light, power, water, refrigeration, to not having one or more of these amenities. Environmental conditions at work locations may range from excessive heat and humidity to extreme cold and rainy.

Physical demands during deployment include: Lifting a minimum of 45 pounds, ability to hear and wake up to warning alarms and hear instructions in the absence of visual cues, live in austere working and sleeping environments, and the ability to wear personal protective equipment, including protective masks, ballistic helmet, body armor, and chemical/biological protective garments.

  • Applicant must pass Pre-Employment Medical and Dental examination, in accordance with USCENTCOM MOD THIRTEEN TO USCENTCOM INDIVIDUAL PROTECTION AND INDIVIDUAL and USCENTCOM MOD THIRTEEN - TAB A - AMPLIFICATION OF THE MINIMAL STANDARDS along with an Immunization screening is required.   • Position is a temporary promotion to GS-12 when deployed; upon return from deployment will return to the GS-11 Level.

Education
